Welcome to the UAMS Northwest Campus website. Located
in the heart of Fayetteville, Arkansas, the regional campus offers
educational opportunities for students in the UAMS Colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, and Health Related Professions. Opportunities include:
- transfer from UAMS for the third and fourth years of medical school;
- transfer from UAMS for the third and fourth years of pharmacy school;
- MNSc (Advanced Practice Nursing) and PhD degree programs in nursing; and
- Associate and Bachelor degree programs in Radiologic Imaging Sciences.
Arkansas
is faced with a great challenge: training a sufficient number of health
care professionals to meet the growing demands. In response to
this challenge, UAMS Northwest, a regional campus in Northwest Arkansas,
was established to expand the opportunities to train physicians,
pharmacists, nurses and other health care professionals in the state.
The Northwest Campus has been in operation since 2007. As of fall 2012, there will be 31 medical students, 51 pharmacy students, 35 graduate nursing students, and 23 students in the health related professions (140 total).
Located in a
vibrant region of Arkansas, one mile from the flagship campus of the
University of Arkansas, Fayetteville offers something for everyone: nearby hiking and a trail system that runs throughout the city, live music
and entertainment on Dickson Street, canoeing and rafting on nearby
rivers and water sports at Beaver Lake, local theater offerings, and
museums… and if you are a fan of the Razorbacks, then Fayetteville is
the only place to be! If that isn’t enough, Fayetteville
has been recognized by Forbes magazine as one of the top five smaller
towns in the country in which to live and work.
This has been an exciting period of growth and expansion over the past 4 years at UAMS Northwest. I
encourage you to not only learn more about our campus through this
website and the pages on the left, but also to explore the links above
to our primary UAMS Campus.
